Polish Nurses Association is an organisation which unites nurses from the entire country and whose origins go back to 1924. The main indicator of nurses’ contribution to the work of the multidisciplinary health care team of specialists is International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP) which plays the leading role in the nurses’ environment. The primary purposes of the Association are promoting the job of a nurse as well as supporting nurses’ scientific development and their professional self-fulfilment. The Association is robustly growing in the whole country. The year 2012 is expected to bring many successes; among which are: establishing scientific clubs (e.g. at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Karol Marcinkowski Poznan University of Medical Sciences) and realisation of new projects which proves the dynamic progress of the Association.
