Introduction and aim. The human papilloma virus is the most important factor causing cervical cancer. Type 16 and 18 are highly risky and may lead to development of cervical cancer. Knowledge about risk factors may decrease the number of infections. The aim of the study was to evaluate nursing course students’ knowledge from the Medical University of Warsaw. Material and methods. The group of 100 nursing students had been selected for test randomly. The results were collected using own questionnaires. Results and conclusions. Knowledge about the human papilloma virus and prevention of cervical cancer is sufficient. The age of respondents does not influence the level of knowledge.
