Introduction. The problems of the elderly in various spheres of life have become the subject of scientific research because of the still growing number of old people. The assessment of their life quality might be useful in the analyses of everyday functioning. We believe that the health care team, which normally comprises the doctor, the nurse, the psychotherapist and the physiotherapist, should also include the cosmetologist who, thanks to the professional knowledge about the mature skin, might positively influence the patient’s well-being. Aim. The aim of the study was to determine the impact of beauty treatments on the well-being of residents of The Therapeutic and Care Clinic in Stronie Śląskie. Material and methods. The questionnaire, prepared by the author and carried out in the group of 40 women aged 65–85, was completed and analyzed. Results. 95% (38) of the respondents were pleased with the classes and 100% (40) claimed the classes improved their mood. The research proved that physical appearance is important to 80% (32) of women who find it difficult to accept the effects of aging. Conclusions. Beauty treatments might improve the well-being of elderly people, who stay at nursing homes. They also improve the quality of these people’s lives. The beauty therapy applied drew their attention away from everyday problems and made the stay in this place more attractive. The research group has definitely integrated during the classes. Beauty treatments might become an essential part of everyday occupational therapy.
