Employee training is an investment and a good way to improve the quality of one’s services and thus to gain advantage over the competitors. The training should be tailored for the company and its employees, and at the same time it must be effective and achieve its objectives. If a training is to be effective, it should be assessed, that is we should carry out a training evaluation on each stage of the training, such as planning, implementation and measurement of results. The most popular model of training effectiveness evaluation is the one developed by Donald L. Kirkpatrick. Using this model, we can assess to what degree targeted outcomes occur as a result of the training programme.

Key words: effective training, training evaluation, training effectiveness evaluation.
