Social campaigns are designed to implement health promotion strategies. Their main aim is to change attitudes and human behaviours. The areas raised in social campaigns are identical with major social problems.
Aim. The aim of research was the evaluation of students’ knowledge about the social campaigns connected with health promotion and evaluation of their educational activities.
Material and methods. The research was carried out among a group of Poznan universities’ students using the questionnaire survey, which besides questions contained also sample posters of social campaigns.
Results. Students’ detailed knowledge on social campaigns connected with health is insufficient and students do not know the organizations which arrange such campaigns.
Conclusions. The educational role of social campaigns is important, but you should not expect to see significant changes in attitudes under their influence. Social campaigns should stimulate to reflection and contribute to take actions aiming at solving the problem.
