Fraza do cytowania: Rasińska R, Nowakowska I, Nowomiejski J The indification of the students’ state of health and their opinion on health threats. Piel Pol. 2013;2(48):79–84.

According to a definition of the World Health Organization health is not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, but a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. The aim of the research was to identify the Midwifery first year students’ state of health. Except for author’s own survey questions the research was conducted by means of the questionnaire commonly used in psychological research of health psychology as The List of Health Behaviours. The research group filled in the questionnaire about health threats. Comparing the analysis of the researched group’s state of health with research data by the Public Opinion Research Center it may be noticed that young people are satisfied with their state of health and they care about their health. However, they presented low and average health behaviours, and only a small group of people admitted to the high health behaviours. The reasons for decreasing free time are connected primarily with a greater amount of duties, including taking up studies. Because health is one of the basic factors of human well-being one needs to understand threats, and be able to adequately prevent and control their effect on health. Young people are not aware of all the consequences of these threats. In connection with above, one should take care of systematic health education in the scope of effects reducing the negative impact on health threats. Young people need to understand that health is the most important ally of the man and provides him/her with joy, success and happiness.

Key words: health, health treats.
