Health protection of school age children a legal duty of state, which results from A series of international and domestic law regulations. In this activity, especially in health promotion field, local government units, representatives of medical professions, the entire community of school (teachers, parents, students) are also engaged. This multiplicity of subjects responsible for health condition of the young population is a consequence of multisection theory of health and the concept of active society, which is developing in our system. However, assuming constitutional canon of welfare state, country is not allowed to relieve from some duties which are basic for the condition of the young generation.
Aim. Presentation of certain legal aspects of health protection aimed at school age children and the role of the state in this field.
Materials. Review of regulations and literature in the context of the duties of the state and other agendas regardingchildren’s health and safety protection.
Results. According to legal regulations, the Polish state should support schools in their efforts to protect children’s health and safety.
