Introduction. Adenocarcinoma is the most common type of prostate cancer. Factors which increase likelihood of developing a disease are genetic predispositions, high fat diet, low physical activity and the black race. The risk of developing this cancer increases with age. Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer disease in men. Aim. The aim of the study was to assess the health situation, identify care problems and plan the nursing care of the patient in the terminal stage of prostate cancer. Case description. In this case study a 72-year old patient who suffered from the advanced stage of malignant prostate cancer, with percutaneous nephrostomy, chronic kidney disease in stage 3, secondary anemia, urinary tract infections, hypofunction of the right kidney and beadsore around the sacrum bone was presented. Moreover, the patient functioning in every sphere of his life was included in the study. Conclusions. Nursing care of the patient in the terminal stage of prostate cancer should be holistic and take into account the biological, social, mental and spiritual spheres.
