Fraza do cytowania: Nowogrodzka A Clinical criteria and diagnosis. The problem of over-frequent recognition of adhd in children. Piel Pol. 2013;2(48):128–131.

ADHD is considered as important social problem. Epidemiological data shows that it affects about 2 to 7% of population and even 9% of school-aged children. There still aren’t any consistent, specific neurological and metabolic factors, nor medical tests that would allow unambiguous diagnosis of ADHD, therefore one encounters many doubts surrounding recognition and treatment of this disorder. The article contemplates on the issue of over-frequent diagnosis of ADHD in children and its probable negative consequences.

Key words: ADHD, diagnosis, diagnostic classifications.
