Introduction. Myocarditis is a disease which is a reason of heart failure. This affliction occurs very rarely in children, but it has very high mortality among the youngest. The estimated infant mortality rate is 75%.   Aim. The aim of the study was to analyze the specific patient case, designate caring problems, and define planning the care of the patient.  Case description. The study shows the case of a 3-month-old patient with a complex, congenital heart defect and with heart failure (indefinite severity), which was caused by myocarditis and the process of hospitalization, during which the patient underwent cardiac catheterization to expand diagnosis and close the loss of interventricular septum and atrial septum.  Conclusions. The dynamically changing and deteriorating clinical condition of the child indicates a heterogeneous clinical picture of myocarditis. Care for a child with myocarditis should be planned adequately to their general condition and in accordance with the formula of the nursing process, focused on identifying current nursing problems, setting goals and planning nursing interventions. The key issue in caring for a child with myocarditis is to follow the latest standards and current evidence-based medical knowledge.
