Aim. The aim of the study was to analyze the profile of patients with Midline Catheters (MC). Material and Methods. The study material consisted of 106 Midline Catheters observation cards. Analyzed MC were implemented to the patients who were hospitalized in one of Warsaw’s Hospital. The authors analyzed documentation from 01.10.2021 to 31.07.2022. The Microsoft Office Excel 2007 was used to analyze the data. Results. 60.5% of patients with Midline Catheters were female. The average age was 74.85 years. Mostly, MC were inserted in the right hand. Nurses, in 61.3% cases, chose the basilic vein, and 27.4%, it was the brachial vein. The average time of Midline catheter maintenance was 13.82 days. In 81.1% of cases, no inflammation symptoms were observed. The most common reason for MC removal was discharging patients home or patient’s death – 20.8%. Conclusions. Midline Catheters are a beneficial solution for patients. They are most often applied to patients in conservative wards. An indirect catheter may be the only line required to conduct complete intravenous therapy in a hospitalized patient, so it is worth implementing these lines in hospitals.
