Introduction. There are many physiological changes in a woman’s body during pregnancy. Hormonal changes have a big impact on their appearance. They can also respond to the occurrence of various types of disorders in the prenatal period. One of them is pemphigoid gestationis. This disease is characterized by the occurrence of papulobullous lesions located on the skin of the whole body with accompanying itching. Gestational pemphigoid is rare, with some sources reporting 1/50,000. The disease is often mild and resolves spontaneously without treatment. Sometimes the disease takes an exacerbated course. In such a situation, appropriate outpatient or hospital treatment should be implemented. Aim. The aim of the study is to present the case of a patient diagnosed with pemphigoid of pregnancy and the procedure in this case. Case description. The paper presents a case of a pregnant woman admitted to the pregnancy pathology ward with suspected onset of labor. During her stay in hospital, the patient’s skin changes were observed. First, the changes covered the abdominal area and then the greater part of the body. The lesions were lumpy and accompanied by persistent itching. A dermatological consultation was recommended. A disease entity was diagnosed: pemphigoid of pregnancy. Symptomatic treatment of pruritus was undertaken in the hospital. Further treatment was conducted in a dermatological clinic. Conclusions. Pemphigoid of gestation is a rare disease and its diagnosis should be differentiated from other dermatoses and cholestasis of pregnancy. It is necessary to provide holistic care to a patient with pemphigoid by a therapeutic team. The disease may be mild or severe. It often resolves spontaneously, sometimes outpatient treatment is sufficient, in severe cases hospital treatment is necessary.
