The Polish model of rehabilitation focuses on such medical and social procedures which ensure disabled and sick people satisfactory and decent life and feeling of being useful in social sphere. Directives of these procedures have been shaped in the 20th century via Professor Wiktor Dega, MD, PhD and his team. The conception of Polish School of Rehabilitation is a complicated process comprising medical and social activities and implementing the principle of healing the human and not the disease. This method is characterized by: generality, early initiating, complexity and continuity. It is so important because the situation of disabled, old and sick people is very specific and requires an individual attitude, which could be represented only by adequately and highly skilled medical personnel.
