Introduction. There are many methods to remove uterine fibroids, which can be divided into the surgical methods (eg: uterine myomectomy, total excision of the uterus through the abdominal layers, vaginal surgeries, laparoscopic surgeries) and non-surgical methods that is noninvasive (e.g. embolization of uterine arteries, hormonal therapy using GnRh analogues, the use of ulipristal acetate). The selection of the appropriate method of treatment depends on many factors, such as the age of the patient, clinical symptoms, comorbid conditions and pregnancy. Aim. The evaluation of treatment options for uterine fibroids and a selection of the most appropriate methods of treatment for the 44-year-old patient, admitted to the gynecology unit, due to excessive between- and menstrual bleeding and lower abdominal pain, who was previously diagnosed with uterine fibroids. Material and method. The study included a patient aged 44, admitted to a gynecology unit with excessive between-and menstrual bleedings and lower abdominal pains. A single case method was applied. Conclusions. This patient due to her age, having children, and symptoms was qualified for the surgery to remove the uterus without appendages. She was emotionally prepared for surgery-before the surgical procedure was performed, a detailed interview to clarify any doubts was carried out, the patient was informed about treatment options and about any complications that there could occur the surgery. Thanks to qualified medical personnel the patient’s stay in the ward proceeded without any complications.
