Aim. The purpose of this study is to present the knowledge of future teachers of elementary education concerning the possibility of using games and physical activities (including animation) in the process of health education, as well as the need for cooperation of specialists in various fields in this scope. Material and methods. The article is of empirical nature. The study was conducted on an arbitrarily selected group of students of pedagogy (specialization in elementary education) of Great Poland Province. The study used a method of a diagnostic survey and the following techniques: a questionnaire and a hidden interview. Results and conclusions. The study allows us to conclude that physical activity is an important determinant of maintaining health. It is also a means for health education of the society. Fun and movement games (including animation) make health education more attractive, however more than half of respondents did not know whether they would be able to conduct them. The group which is best prepared for this type of classes are Physical Education teachers. The collaboration of different environments that have an impact on public health education seems important. These environments include: doctors, nurses, Physical Education teachers, teachers of primary education (grades 1–3).
