Introduction. Facebook.com is one of the most popular social networks in recent times which makes it possible to reach a wide audience with a little financial outlay. The fanpage is created with a view to promote your organization, it is also used by psychological and psychiatric services. This is the way to promote oneself without breaking the law. Aim. The aim of the study is to analyze profiles of therapeutic entities on a social network. Material and methods. 21 groups of medical entities providing outpatient services in mental health in Poland were selected for the analysis. In order to research the possibility of using the portal facebook.com for marketing purposes the number of people who like fanpages, dates of funding funpages and the activity (number of published posts) at fanpages for the last 4 months – March, April, May and June 2013 were analysed. Results and conclusions. The fanpage activity analysis of individual psychological and psychiatric units indicate the level of the company popularity. The correlation between the popularity of fanpages and airtime was not demonstrated. Facebook.com is a simple, cheap and effective marketing tool to distribute information about companies. The medical team of the company should be motivated to engage in the fanpage functioning.
